1-3 – KVMR Celtic Festival
Now in its 28th year, the festival features internationally acclaimed bands, a bustling Celtic marketplace, Highland Games, living history, workshops, kids’ activities, Animals of Celtic lands exhibits, and the beloved Friday Night Ceilidh Dance!
9 – City-Wide Sidewalk Spring Sale
Visitors can take advantage of shopping specials. Businesses throughout Nevada City including both our Seven Hills and Downtown Districts, will offer sale racks and tables in front of their shops offering great deals on last season merchandise. This city-wide celebration shines a spotlight on the town’s two vibrant shopping districts along with its burgeoning food, beer and wine scene.
16 – Grass Valley Armed Forces Day Celebration and Fly-In!
We have an action-packed family fun itinerary that includes honoring distinguished junior enlisted and officers, military bands, and food and beverage vendors, along with interactive family-friendly displays from all branches of the armed forces, and various military aircraft flyovers!
16 – Sierra Streams Fest
Sierra Streams Fest is a family friendly event hosted by Sierra Streams Institute in celebration of its 30th Anniversary. This event focuses on the connection between art, science and our community through meaningful experiences and partnerships, and opportunities to engage in hands-on activities and discussions around the science of where we live. Event attendees will learn about our holistic approach to environmental science, watershed monitoring, and forest ecology through hands-on activities and demonstrations.
JUNE
7 – Movies Under The Pines
The Nevada City Film Festival (NCFF) presents Movies Under the Pines, an outdoor cinema experience for the entire family at the Pioneer Park Bandshell, 421 Nimrod St, Nevada City.
14 – Bill Douglass Memorial Jazz Picnic
Listen to some of the best jazz musicians in Nevada County -Tommy Coster, piano; Chris Golden, bass; Tim Bulkley, drums; John Girton, guitar; Michelle Amador, vocals and special guest artist Ben Flocks, sax.
26-28 – Nevada City Film Festival
The 26th annual Nevada City Film Festival (NCFF) kicks off with an exciting slate of independent, international short and feature length films; visiting filmmakers participating in Q&A’s, workshops and talks; happy hours and after parties; outdoor screenings, and more, all happening in downtown Nevada City.
28 – Pride Family Fest
You are invited to the 5th Annual Pride Family Fest on June 28th (11–3pm) at the Condon Park Picnic Pavilion. This all-ages, multi-generational event celebrates LGBTQ+ families in all their beautiful diversity. We’ll have hotdogs (vegan and gluten-free options too), cake, games, activities, and art. Please bring a potluck side to share!
JULY
4 – Fourth of July Celebration
Get ready to don your flags and patriotic attire – the 4th of July parade! The 4th of July Parade will take place in downtown Nevada City on Saturday, July 4, 2026 at 11am.
4 – STAR-SPANGLED BASH! Dance Party on the Plaza
Get ready, Grass Valley — this year we’re turning up the red, white, and blue for a once-in-a-generation celebration! Join us on the Mill Street Plaza from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. as we honor America’s 250th anniversary with an evening bursting with music, flavor, and hometown pride.
4 – Nevada County Concert Band – Independence Day Celebration
The 60-member Nevada County Concert Band invites you to join us, as the band joins for the Independence Day celebrations. The Nevada County Concert Band (NCCB) brings back to life an era in American history when local band concerts were a grand social occasion. Come join us and wave a flag at the curbside with the band at the Independence Day Parade.
AUGUST
11 – Little Feat: The Last Farewell
Their inimitable blend of rock, New Orleans swamp boogie, jazz, and blues is not only unique but an ongoing source of delight. Feat has an incredible legacy of music and the celebration that comes with it, and the near future will see them honoring their own past with more playing. But it’s time to give the trusty tour bus, however comfy, a rest.
12-16 – Nevada County Fair
Get ready for five days of excitement and fun planned for Fairgoers! The Nevada County Fair is the perfect opportunity to enjoy musical entertainment, delicious food, carnival rides, animals, and exhibits in a community-friendly environment and at affordable family prices!
15-29 – Nevada City’s Hot Summer Nights
Summer Nights in Nevada City celebration – a free street festival of art and music. It’s been a summertime tradition for 33 years.
SEPTEMBER
11 – 9/11 Patriots Day of Remembrance
Join the Greater Grass Valley Chamber, City of Grass Valley, American Legion Post 130, Grass Valley Fire Department, Grass Valley Police Department, and Nevada County First Responders on the Mill Street Plaza near the Del Oro Theater to commemorate the lives of those who died in the 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Virginia and those who perished when the hijacked United Airlines Flight 93 crashed in Pennsylvania, and those who died attempting to rescue people trapped by the attacks. 19 – Woofstock
The Rüdiger Foundation is excited to announce the 2026 Paw & Order Dinner & Auction, themed “Woofstock”, taking place September 19, 2026, at Castello Vista Estate, 15231 McCourtney Road, Grass Valley. Guests will enjoy a vibrant, Woodstock-inspired celebration honoring Nevada County’s Police K9 teams, complete with dinner catered by Antonio Ayestaran Catering.
19-20 – Constitution Day Weekend
Join us for Nevada City’s Constitution Day Weekend! This event has been a tradition since 1967 and is reported to be the oldest and largest Constitution observance in the western United States. A few highlights of the weekend include a parade, Revolutionary War Living History, the Gold Country Duck Race on Deer Creek, and a concert in the historic district.

Nevada City’s thriving arts community comes alive during First Friday Artwalk. Local artisan boutiques, shops, wine tasting rooms and eateries feature local artists at live events throughout the evening. The event showcases both established and emerging artists, creating space for engagement between artist and art lover.
