What Makes A Good Neighbor?
– Crystal Vagnier – Select Group – Writer/Editor
Everyone loves a good neighbor. Realtor.com® conducted a study to see what characteristics made a good neighbor and whether citizens considered their neighbors to hold true to these qualities. It’s important to also see if you fall underneath the qualities of being a good neighbor. According to the study a whopping 75% of neighbors said they considered their neighbors to be good, quiet, and respectful. While the days of throwing a welcome party or dinner for new folks in the neighborhood is a thing of the past, 65% of people say they will take the time to introduce themselves.
Qualities like friendliness and trustworthiness were valued as being the best while being loud and nosy were considered the worst. Here are the stats:
Best Qualities:
59% Trustworthy
50% Quiet
46% Friendly
43% Respectful
