Creative Holiday Marketing Ideas

The holiday season is one of the best times of year to nurture those relationships with your Sphere of Influence that ultimately lead to growing your business. There are a number of fun opportunities to keep you top-of-mind. Here are several creative and unique ways to help you make a valuable impact and standout during the holidays;

In-person or over the phone

  • Turn your Open Houses into mini holiday parties
    • Play holiday music, serve Christmas cookies, and print holiday themed coloring pages.
  • Coordinate a group and go caroling through your neighborhood or farm.
    • Great especially if you are currently/or have done the Realtor® Nextdoor Program.
  • Help out by collecting items needed.
    • Check with your office is hosting; canned food, coat, toy drive, etc.
    • Walk your neighborhood or farm with the promotional flyers and take a wagon door-to-door and collect the food, coats or toys.
  • Host a cookie decorating party at your home, office, or clubhouse.
    • Invite your SOI, past clients, and/or farm residents. Provide to-go boxes or bags with your business information on them. We can design and print stickers for those containers.
  • Pick-up the phone and call through your SOI wishing them well during the holidays. A friendly phone call touching base goes a long way!

Mail remains to be tried and true

  • Send holiday cards with a handwritten signature.
    • Xpressdocs has a large variety of holiday cards; Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, Season’s Greetings, or New Year’s, etc. cards. You can even personalize them with your photo.
    • Visit look in the “seasonal” tab.
  • Send “happy mail” in lieu of a wrapped package. United States Postal Service allows you to send presents aka “happy mail” without being wrapped. Place a stamp directly non-breakable item. The only rule is it must weigh less than 13 ounces.
    • Fun ideas: children’s holiday book, recipe book, puzzle, holiday container with tape, scissors, ribbon and present labels, small wreath or chocolates.
  • Send a “plantable” personalized tree ornament, card, gift tag or wine necker.
    • Plantable items are eco-friendly and a cool way to send a personalized message.

  • Personalize calendars and mail or hand deliver.
  • Send a “Sold” postcard highlighting your amazing year of properties sold!

Post to Social Media Pages

  • Encourage your clients to share photos of their decorated homes; holiday trees, outside and inside décor’, elf on the shelf shenanigans, and family gatherings. This is good for you to share a little of your personal holiday happiness too!
  • Engage with your followers/friends, if you see someone post a message, simply comment positivity – short and sweet… Happy Holidays!
  • Shoot a short happy holiday video. Be creative!
  • Encourage your followers/friends to share their favorite holiday recipes!

Hold a Contest – Everyone loves to WIN! 

  • Host a pumpkin carving or decorating contest.
    • Have a flyer created to send to your SOI/Farm or Neighborhood.
    • Encourage the participants to post the images and tag you in them on social media.
    • Pick a day to award prizes to participants.
    • Take photos of you and the winners.
  • Hold a Holiday Coloring Contest. Mail a coloring page to your SOI or farm with prepaid postage so they can mail the entry back to you or you can ask them to drop them by your office.
  • Send a personalized scratcher. Winners can be as many as you would like!
    • You can offer everyone FREE Comparative Market Analysis (CMA)
    • Prizes can be anything; Starbucks, Gas cards, Local restaurants, etc.
