Pooling their resources to form one of the largest real estate companies in the region, ERA Cornerstone Realty Group, Century 21 Gold Dust and Century 21 Foothill Realty have merged to form a new company, Century 21 Cornerstone Realty.
The announcement was made on Friday that the three companies had joined forces, aiming to grow market presence in Nevada County and the Auburn area, specializing in residential and luxury sales.
Century 21 Cornerstone Realty will also be a member of Select Real Estate Services, one of the leading real estate service providers in Northern California, already owning ERA Cornerstone along with 14 existing Century 21 select offices in the greater Sacramento region.
Daniel Jacuzzi, president and owner of Select Real Estate Services, has close to 40 years’ experience in the real estate industry, and says the impetus for the merger was to connect their other offices in the state with local operations in Nevada County, bringing all 20 of the Select Real Estate offices under the Century 21 banner.
“Year to date, which is only seven weeks in, the combined three companies that have just joined together have sold more real estate than any other company in Nevada County,” Jacuzzi said.
“We believe we have found the best possible management and business practices in the real estate industry, and for us, the future looks bright.” J.D. Miller former owners, Century 21 Gold Dust
The three companies combined in 2014 had $161,240,560 in sales volume and represented over 500 sellers and buyers in Nevada County.
Select Group Real Estate Services began in 1980 when Jacuzzi purchased his first real estate office in Yuba City, where the company’s headquarters currently resides. The organization is home to six companies with 60 offices throughout Northern California, Lake Tahoe and Northern Nevada, and is ranked in the elite group of Top 100 real estate firms nationally.
Through the merger, Century 21 Cornerstone Realty will run six total offices with seven employees, and 65 licensed sales agents managed by the company’s new regional sales manager, Eric Hatch, who owned Century 21 Foothill.
Hatch has more than 20 years’ experience as a real estate agent and manager, and says the company will retain all of its employees.
“I wanted to merge with a company that had the same kind of beliefs that I had,” Hatch said. “And to be able to help more agents and teach them how to give amazing customer experiences, and exceed the customers’ expectations, while being affiliated with a larger company, and utilizing the tools necessary to build the successful careers of these agents in all the offices.”
J.D. and Erin Miller, the former owners of Century 21 Gold Dust, felt that being part of a larger organization such as Select Real Estate Services is what was needed to bring the company to the “next level.” “It is another life achievement to transform Gold Dust into a key component in a new, larger real estate organization with the best infrastructure and offerings for all,” J.D. Miller said. “We believe we have found the best possible management and business practices in the real estate industry, and for us, the future looks bright.”
Miller will continue as an agent with the newly merged company, but will not serve as a manager.
Hatch will supervise operations for all local offices, working out of the company’s Nevada City and Lake of the Pines locations.
Linda Kaneko, a branch leader and manager with Select Real Estate services, said the merger will not only consolidate company resources, but it will also provide agents in Century 21 Cornerstone Realty with access to a larger network.
“Our scale now of 700-plus agents in 32 offices in two states, allows us to develop tools for the agents that are bigger, better and stronger than what other smaller companies can offer,” Kaneko said. “We have a full five-person marketing team, nobody has that in Nevada County. We have graphic designers, social media specialists, database management staff that are hugely beneficial to the agents that are coming on board with us.”
