Have a Fire Evacuation Plan!

It doesn’t hurt to be prepared, especially if you are in an area prone to wild fires. Always make sure you have an exit strategy and keep informed as to the weather warnings in your area. We have posted in the past about other fire safety tips, but this time we wanted to post about using a fire evacuation plan, specifically about what you can remove if you had certain amount of time to leave the area. You may not be thinking clearly if the danger of a fire is near, so creating a list and keeping it in your car or with a close family member can help when things get intense.

To help you start, we have created an excel sheet for removing the most important things in a certain amount of time, which you can download by clicking here. You will find that you are organized and well planned if you ever have to evacuate items in your home. Remember it is also wise to photograph the contents of your home as well. We hope you never have to use the list, but in case you do, you should be ready. This is a great way to see what is really important to yourself as well as how many things you would be able to do without.

“At the time of this writing, there is a massive fire danger in the El Dorado and Placer County areas, and members of the Select Group family that are in the area are consistently in our thoughts. We hope both you and your family stay safe and out of harm’s way!”
