Genoa, Nevada Gets a Main St. Renovation

“The Genoa Destination Project has established an important milestone for our Town and its residents,” said Dave Whitgob, Town of Genoa Chair. “This project has enabled us to “showcase” our Crown Jewel, while at the same time being mindful of our desire to preserve our historic integrity.”
The $1.65 million dollar project known as, “The Genoa Main Street Project” provides a more pedestrian friendly downtown while still preserving Genoa’s history. It follows the completion of new 1.3 mile Genoa Vista Trail which was dedicated earlier this year. Both projects are part of “Genoa Destination”, one of Douglas County’s 12 Economic Vitality Projects. The overall theme of the dedication is blending the history with the future and the program will include Dave Whitgob, Chair for the Town of Genoa, Willy Webb, President of Greater Genoa Business Association, and Steve Mokrohisky, Douglas County Manager.
Following the ceremony attendees will celebrate with refreshments and live entertainment from Lightin n’ Lace. Family entertainment and activities such as Face Painting, Balloon Twisters and a Moon Bounce will all be available for children to enjoy. Local businesses will also be offering special promotions.
